C.S.5 question

Hi ,can someone help me out,
I'am wanting to change an image to b/w but just leave a certain part of the image original, the image in question is a bird in a field with only it's head visible,so the field would be b/w and just the head will be coloured,I have C.S.5.

You need to do a search for selective colouring. There's some good info on TP

In a nutshell, you need to duplicate the image so you hae two layers. Alter the top layer so its Black and White, and then add a layer mask to the top image. You should see a white box appear in the layers palette, within the top layer. Click this box, then select a black brush and brush the area you want in colour. This should 'remove' the top layer, showing the coloured one underneath.

Quick tip also, if you accidently paint too much, or go over the line etc, just change the brush to white and it 'fills' the Black and White image back in again.
