Yes
his press release was so much like a whining kid, i wont be sad to see the back of him, he knew what a tough gig being alonsos team mate in a team run by flav.

lets hope his replacement fairs much better to make nelson look even more stooopod

F1 in general is utter crap................

if i were williams, i would have said no too. williams need the points and with rosberg getting consistant results he doesnt need M Schumacher Esq getting the results

After seeing how good NP jr was before f1 i cant help thinking he might be telling the truth in his press release.

thats as maybe, but second seat in flavs team is always going to be a hard gig (see what kovalienen went through 2 years ago at renault, plus every 2nd driver at flav run benetton) so i dont really have much time for the guy, not least because everything that ever caused him to go off into the kittylitter was the cars fault, never his.

would be interesting to see how he would do in another team though

I reckon his dad will buy BMW out for next season, and he'll get a drive, i hope he does, see how he performs with less pressure from his boss. Putting Grosjean in his place will do no better. As long as Alonso is there, the 2nd driver has no chance of equality. Just another Schumacher, Herbert got treated the same when he was Schumi's team mate and Flavio was the boss.

some people just can't step up to the next level. Kenan Sofuoglu WSS champion in 2007, dynamite on a 600cc but could'nt make it at superbike level and has dropped back to supersports.

jan magnussen was another who was great in lower formula but in f1 he didnt light any fires, but is now good in sportscars.

zanardi was if course another who couldnt show his talent in f1 but was at the time one of the best racers

Bourdais is another example...i dont doubt hes a good driver, hes just not shown himself to be a good F1 driver

it seems to happen to alot of indy drivers when they make the switch, the only two in recent history who has made the switch successfully are J.Villeneuve (who switched when the cars were still wide and slickshod)and JP Montoya (who IMHO could drive pretty much anything). then we had Zanardi come across, De Matta, Bourdais etc. non of whom shone in f1, maybe its as fundemental as being unable to get used to the much narrower track on an f1. its a mystery!

But the examples you posted, Villeneuve and Montoya came into F1 with a car capable of winning races, the others like Zanardi and Bourdais never did.

montoya was a wasted talent, i dont know if that was due to him being in a team where he didnt feel really comfortable(maclaren and williams) or if he just didnt try hard enough

i remember watching montoya at about 12/10ths in indycars he was sublime, he was using all the track and more in qualifying, you could see the sparks being thrown as he brushed the armco with his wheels, it was great stuff to watch.

he was the first driver to really come into f1 in the schumacher era and be completely unfazed by racing with him as well. still one of my fav drivers and as you say, a wasted talent, he needed more support than he got at mclaren (he never appeared happy) or a marginally more competitive williams and he would have blitzed a few championships before quitting. hes steadily making improvement in nascar though
