Yes
There is something I am thinking of buying second hand but I am not 100% I want it.
Has anyone got any experience of returning things within 30 days from companies like MPB, Jessops etc?

Yes it's usually fine and simple. A lot of them offer free returns shipping too which means there is no cost to you, just read their terms on the websites before hand to reassure yourself. If it's from a reputable company you shouldn't have any problems.

Usually fine, they have a good amount of rubbish items with faults that get returned multiple times until they find a home that does not look or test properly.

Camera Jungle have a 14 day no quibble return policy.
I returned something and got a refund within three days.
If it's not faulty the cost of return postage will be down to you, fair enough.

Who has that return policy?

Most internet sellers do 14 days from day of receipt, so unless there's a fault you may not get 30 days.

14 days is the legal minimum, so every single store should be offering this, faulty goods or not.

In practice 30 days should be fine for any used camera/lens as it would take a brave store to argue that the goods were exactly as described, particularly when you get into technical areas like slightly soft lenses etc.

Amazon are class leaders in my opinion, we left a car seat unopened in our garage for over a year and then finally opened it and realised it was a slightly different model. They collected it free of charge no questions asked.

Just hope I am never one of the mugs that fall for the rubbish- I probably do not check items bought from them thoroughly enough as I like to believe I can depend on them for their expertise. I have been let down once by one of them in this sort of way- long story- do not want to go into it:mad:

I returned a brand new lens to a major internet camera store as it had a very obvious defect where the zoom mechanism would completely sieze. You could unstick it but it would consistently re-jam after a few more full zooms in and out.

Within a day or two of my returning it they had it for sale in their used section as a top graded item. As it happened somebody on this very forum bought the lens and had it in their possession within days of me returning it. Guess what? Sticky zoom. They too returned it. At that point very few were on the market so it was very unlikely to be a coincidence.

I recently arranged to send 2 items back: 1 to LCE and the other to MPB. Both were without hassle and the MPB transaction couldn't have been easier, however both were within the 14 day period.
