can you buy on the forum using paypal ?
or is it only bank transfer ?
if it is the later how do you go about it ?

Use whatever you and the seller agree to.

unless something has changed recently you should be able to send payments without needing to pay paypal any fees. If you select send to family/friends, and as I consider everyone I buy anything from as a friend then I don't have any issues with them being short changed.

AKA Paypal Gift ;).
 
TP just allows members to advertise goods for sale and negotiate with buyers online. The actual sale is a private agreement between the parties, and TP isn't involved in this.

The usual methods of payment are bank transfer and cash, but there's nothing to stop you using PayPal, a cheque or a card if the seller agrees.

Or you can even as I've done a few times pay in over the counter at a branch of the sellers bank I've done this a few times while I was locked out of online banking, which actually adds security too given you can validate the sellers address being attached to the account :)
 
You don't actually need to have a bank account, just hand the payment and details over the counter at any bank with a reference title ie 'payment for camera' and it will go through.
