Buying Canon 600D in Singapore, international warranty?

My mum is going to Singapore for the week, so depending on price, I may get a DSLR. But do Canon offer international warranty when you buy in Singapore?

I've looked on Canon.com.sg and can't see anything mentioned.


Also as I'm posting, anyone recommend some shops that she can go to?

Canon only give international warranties with lenses not bodies.

That's something that you have to weigh up and decide for yourself. Check out the many threads on grey imports (this is essentially the same thing), where people have pointed out the main pros and cons. Essentially, is the saving at the point of purchase worth the (small) potential risk of a repair needed.
 
It's not worth it because the Singapore isn't so cheap. The prices there are less than the UK and their VAT (GST) is only 7% generally. By the time you've knocked off 7% and then added UK VAT you'll be paying more than the equivalent deal from Kerso....who's bodies will have warranty.

Thanks you two. Yer if I'm not going to be saving much, then I would rather buy here and have warranty should anything happen.

Bob, Kerso is the same Kerso as on this forum I presume?
