Yes
I just picked up an Olympus rc35 for £2 and thought I'd give a play around with I for a bit.

Where is the cheapest place to buy film and cheapest to get it developed?

Cheapest place for film is Poundland. AGFA Vista Plus 200 in date for £1, not all of them stock it though.

Cheapest place for developing is supermarkets. I take mine to Sainsbury's where it costs £4 for dev and scan to CD.

As people have said Poundland, they usually have Agfa Vista 200 ISO, dev and scan at Asda for £3- cheap entry into the world of film! Well worth it in my view, but then again I am a bit biased!

I've never noticed this at my local Sainsbury which is a pain because my local Asda have just taken out their bike racks so securing the bike while I pick up my film is a pain in the ...

When my local supermarkets fail to provide secure bike facilities I like to put my bike in a trolley and push it around the supermarket with me, it foils even the most determined thieving scallywag.

I've gone off using either Tescos or Boots as neither produced satisfactory results in either print our the scan.

Set to try Morrisons next, but that is my last C41 film. I'm almost set to develop B&W film at home :-)

Just did some 35mm film price researching yesterday, and I was surprised that 7dayshop came out the most expensive per film on Provia, Tmax100/400 and TriX. Like £7.07 for Tmax100 vs £3.97 from Calumet's ebay shop (free delivery in both cases). discountfilmsdirect do the best low quantity prices for Agfa Precisa (around £6.50 per film for >1), but AG photo do the best bargain for that film (£42.90 for a 10-pack, plus £4.90 delivery). Calumet also comes out cheapest for a 5-pack of Portra 160. I was quite surprised at these results; I've ordered some Precisa from dfd and a bunch of BW/Portra stuff from Calumet!

I never thought of that!

And if you live near a branch or warehouse of Calumet then you can pick it up from there for free, shame that the Nottingham branch went a few years ago as back home its very useful being able to order film etc online and then just pick it up the next time me or my parents are going into MK. Their prices on T-Max and Tri-X are very good if your able to pick it up.

Good research Chris, I will have to be a bit more careful when I'm buying film.

Thanks for doing the leg work Chris. I need to order some Portra.

Well these prices were from Calumet's fleabay shop so were postage free (but it's low priority; I'm expecting mine Wednesday or later). As for visiting Calumet... last time I was in Edinburgh I spent the morning taking a bus down to Leith and tracking down the branch there. They only had Portra in 120! They could get it sent up they said, be in next week...

Just noticed that ag photographic do 35mm dev only from 2.99. Postage is free to them too. With Royal Mail wanting the best part of £3 a pop just for one film to be posted off it is looking quite a cheap option.

Never knew that...are they any good ?

My local one does a great job. The scans aren't high res, but they're sharp with plenty of detail. It's a 2 day service, so I'm not 100% sure if they send it to Fuji UK or they do it themselves.

Ah similar to Tesco as they now send film somewhere.
