buying a second hand lens, knowing it was dropped

And i do now feel a little bit played since the buyer told me these questions were coming from "a friend" .... flickr stats jumped on those images yesterday so a quick check of the referrer confirm this thread

i asked some questions that were advised to me by members of this forum, i dont see how thats playing or being sneaky, just seeking adivse of others that know more than me.

i dont see anything wrong with that.

Just to clarify ... i'm the seller ... and i've been 100% upfront and honest with everyone who's been interested in the lens .... i put the relatively small amount of money from insurance company towards a full upgrade on the basis it was almost like getting a refund on my initial investment and i wouldn't have otherwise had the oportunity.

And yes .... i could VERY easily have said NOTHING about dropping the camera and just said "oh well ... must have been damaged in transit" to a seller with any problems but i don't operate like that

Alot of people are unaware of web traffic and where it comes from, I love watching Google Analytics, anyway good luck with the new kit, to be fair the OP was only asking advice, he has got both + & - and you have sold the lens.
