Long gone are the days I had mountains of disposable income, holidays when I please, shoe shopping on a whim... however I am quite excited about the prospect of a brand spanking new sofa

So, my fellow TP'ers, where would you recommend we take a look? Besides DFS and SCS, I really dont know many more places. Somewhere that does the 4 years interest free is a *must*, and not somewhere that does nothing but leather, leather is out :)

Sorry for the boring thread, anyone care to help me? :)

Not DFS....unless you want to still be paying for the sofa 3 years after you've had to bin it

John Lewis
thats were i got mine from :D

should the queestion not be "do you do one that you like" and in the rice range you want? ;)

Marks & Spencer, we got 3 and 2 seater in the sale plus another 20% off via staff discount, paid about £500 for the pair - bargain

You do realise that 'interest free' is not really interest free don't you? The interest is hidden in the price of the item you are buying. No company is going to be selling something at a loss no matter how good the deal looks to you.

I would suggest Homebase/Argos they do quite a large range and see the bank about a low rate loan.

Go to the smaller "independant" shops.

When we went sofa shopping we quickly found the one we wanted but it only came in four colour/patterns from the "Big Name" stores. We found the same sofa in a smaller shop & when we spoke about colour the salesman gave us books of material and said "chose from that" :D

Try Harrods. We get all our stuff from there:D:D:D

My sofas are charity shops and hand outs! John Lewis are good though, If you can hang on til around xmas the Special Purchase are really good value!

Thanks all, I think we have the bug now. Been without a decent suite for over a year, its time :D

:agree:

A sofa for £300 and 4 years interest-free credit

How much do you think something like that actually costs to make, given that that £300 (or even £500 or £800) has to include materials, the manufacturer's profit, shipping, the retailer's markup (usually about 100% including enough for advertising, rent, rates, wages, etc) and still leave profit left for the retailer and a finance company?

Probably about £15 :shake:

got to have cushions on a leather sofa otherwise you can't sneak a **** out without it rumbling ;)

I am totally amazed he hasn't worked that out!

Don't jump up and down on the sofa whilst doing so then

At that kind of price, I wouldn't even allow anyone to sit on it! Looks well nice and comfy though, great for sprawling across watching DVDs. :)

Looks really lovely.

I bought something very similar in a totally practical cream linen last week. :D

Oh cream is the best, almost as bad as having cream carpets :D

*mutter grumble*
