Hi,

I am hoping to buy a Canon EOS 7D ans I have found these sites, so any comments on these suppliers please

pixmania.com

amazon.co.uk

Warehouse express

e buyer .com

Park Cameras

As the EOS 7D is a fair amount of wedge I would hope to buy it from a reliable retailer.

Many thanks

warehouse express are good, i bought mine from them

Give Kerso a shout on here, see what his prices are like.

This site is a great resource for showing you the lowest prices from reputable retailers on the site so they should all be safe to buy from. LINK

Also, if you don't mind buying American imports then conact "Kerso" on this forum. I have bought from him in the past and he not only has the best prices for the most part, you'll be covered by the Canon warranty as well because you get a UK invoice with your purchase.

Good luck wherever you get it from, it's a great camera and you'll absolutely love it.

Warehouse Express and Park Cameras are both excellent, and sort out any problems you may have very quicklly. I bought a brand new EOS 1DMK2n from WE and the SD card slot wasn't working. I rang them and they had it picked up by courier from me and exchanged it straight away - pretty impressive.

You hope you wont have problems with new gear, but if you do it's nice to know you'll get prompt attention.

I have always want a more semi type of DSLR and the EOS 7D seems to be Canon's best model to date that perhaps it is even slightly better than the Nikon D300S, which is a cracking camera !
I have source a credit card so I have 8 months interest free on purchases, result !

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 7D- it's a cracking camera.

My 7D and 50D was from WE, good service, good price and fast delivery. Haven't had a problem so cant speak for the after-sales service but I hear its good when its needed.

I got mine from Park Cameras, went in there and the service was amazing!! Truely passionate about what they do!

cheapest place I know is camerabox.co.uk I got a 50D for 695

the 7d was close to 1200 quid

I also use calumet and castle cameras

castle is more expensive on most things but they are localish to me so I only buy small things , calumet a bit more expensive than the cheaper ones but amazing service

I got mine from Park. Not the cheapest, but they're only 15 minutes away and I like buying local. I've had some great advice from them in the past.

ebuyer is fantastic. bought loads of things from there and they can garentee next day before 12 delivery!

Just bought a 7D and grip from Kerso for pretty close to the same price as WE are selling the body for :)

From the ones listed I've used amazon and ebuyer, however I haven't tried either for camera equipment. Amazon have always delivered on time. EBuyer's customer service was good when I had to return a graphics card last year.

If you want the cheapest price and aren't too concerned about importing then Octopus Electronics have the 7D body only for £1044 with free delivery for valentines weekend.

They are posting these from HK so there is no reason (if you do not want a UK warranty) to buy from them and not One Stop Digital which proved reliable in the past (only £6 more).

If I were you though I would want a UK warranty for an expensive body such as the 7D.

I got my 7D from Calumet as they were the cheapest UK dealer at the time plus they have a high street presence if I need to return it.

I looked at this company when I was buying my 7d - the positives are that they are only up the road from me and I could have saved the delivery cost by picking up the camera - the negatives is that they are grey imports and any warranty issues will have to be dealt with by them (they do offer a 3 year warranty though).

:razz:I wouldn't touch Pixmania with a barge pole. I ordered a lens for a Canon and they sent me one for a Nikon.

It took me a month before I got a refund. Even though it was their mistake, 'returns' have to go back to France to be checked before any refunds etc and I can tell you, the whole process is an extremely drawn out process.

Each time I phoned to check the status of my refund, I got some numpty, I can't tell you how many phone calls and faxes I had to send to sort it out.:bang:

Never again.

I phoned HDEW and the chap at the other end informed the cameras are grey imports and that tye warranty is with another company they use !
All a little worrying really considering as alot of small business are going to the wall due to the recession.
So i phoned Jessops and they can do the EOS 7D for £1249 ( body only ) on 12 months interest free !
That seems to be the best deal i can find at present.

That seems reasonable to me. I wouldn't want to take any chances buyng a body. Lenses are different- carrying international warranty.

I would second that!! I cancelled and order after unfulfilled promises of delivery, it then took a load of hassle to have my card credited with the amount they took out immediately I made the order.

What about NULTEC - they advertise here on TP!?
they have the 7D at 810 quid! HERE

It is a Google ad so should not be viewed with any credibility just because it is on TP.

WOW Miclio youre right! I didnt realise until now!!! Some people have huge cojones.

Galaxy66 - yes it is Google Ad, I thought that TP had some control over those ads.

Good to know guys, I could have made a huge mistake!!!!
