Be a kool kid :D

www.moo.com

I honestly cant recommend anyone else, I love my mini Moo cards, but they arent to everyones taste :)

I used Vista print.

I set up a business card put in all my details, then backed out at the checkout.

They sent me loads of emails dropping the price each time until it got stupid prices so I bought some.

They charge extra for every image you add, so I merged three imaged together in photoshop, & they just charged for the one!

I actually have two sets...

The free Vistaprint ones to put in with a CD of images/friends of friends/people that have no intention of calling me

The Moo cards for when I want to impress ;)

247printhouse.com print my cards (double sided matt laminated full colour). Not the cheapest but great quality and service.

printing.com rotate different special offers each month including stationery packs and business cards. Great value and good quality product, if you can catch one of those.

I found Vistaprint pretty good. I also used a company called ALocalPrinter.com for postcards and flyers. They specialise in eco friendly printing.

I got a few hundred Moo Mini Cards printed, using the Flickr tie-in.

They get so much more attention than a standard business card!!

I am with Badger UK for Goodprint.co.uk. Very good quality card, lamination and printing. worth spending the extra on over someone like vistaprint. And they do some very good deals on matching stationary.

How does this compare MD?

500 business cards, 400gsm, double sided colour (your images) 'luxury matt laminated' or 'impact gloss laminated' for £31.26 delivered ???

DD

PS - I think Vistaprint's Business Cards are rubbish

Where are they from Dave..

I'm another Moo fan and just noticed they are now offering regular sized cards too.

Have tried vista print and was not happy with the finish.

It's a mate of mine's company, which I can't remember the name of for the live of me at the mo

Dellipher & I are just about to order 5,000 A4 triple coated, 170gsm, full colour leaflets from them, £182 delivered - that's less than 4p each :cuckoo:

I'll give him a ring if anyone's really interested and find his website

I totally agree, I was not [and still not] impressed with my business cards.
I need some new ones.

Oi - you used to like 'em! You even recommended them to me :razz:

But yes, Moo.com is the new route I take :)

can you explain "the Flickr tie-in"?

ring ring Dave.. get a move on.. we want the number.. lol..

What is so special about Moo cards??

I want to get some made up but wont untill iv got a web site up.. and a domain name.. Has anyone got any snappy names i could use for it??

Moo Cards are smaller than normal business cards, they're little and they're cute:lol:
The difference with the moo cards are they come in packs of 100, but you can upload your images from flickr to the moo-site, and you can actually have a different photograph on the 100 cards.
They're probably about a third of a normal size of a business card, but it makes people think "thats different" but its the fact that you can have different designs on all of them, showing people the different types of work that you can do and are able to achieve.

:lol::lol: iv already got that but its not very Photographic is it.. lol..

I need one for a proper webbie..

I have both Moo Cards for my personal flickr pages and goodprint ones for my Business.

However, rather than a specific recomendation of either of these companies I'd suggest that whatever company you choose to supply your cards they need to feel right in the hand and IMO the heavier the card the better. Extras such as matt lamination, spot UV varnishes and metalic foils aren't neccessary but they can make the card look and feel that much better, I personally have the matt lamination on the Business cards.

Remember that Business Cards aren't all the same size. The Armerican style (such as Vista Print offers) is thinner and wider than the British size ones (same as a Credit Card) so it can be difficult for you client to find a convenient place to put an American sized card (other than a bin). I'd suggest you think long and hard if you don't get the British Credit Card sized cards.

One final point - Photography is supposed to be a luxury product (it is if you are charging market rates) so your image (of which your business card is part of) needs to say luxury. So if you are serious then it's worth paying a little more and getting quality.

Follow-on from my recently placed order with Vistaprint....

unfortunately I'm very disapointed in the cards - Front image has printed dark & the back one has "marks" not on the original on all 250 cards - waiting for a response from their Customer Service !!

A friend had some awesome cards made once. They were the same size as standard business cards, with printed details etc on the front, but, they were actually c.d's. When you put them in a computer, all his info came up, with a slideshow all to music. It could be paused and was completely browserble (made up word??).
Dean:)

Ive ordered some more freebie cards from Vistaprint today, and paid the quid to remove the advert from the back :D

I am happy with them, and cant really afford more Moo cards right now.

I looked at Goodprint today, but the design layout thing was a bit off, and I couldnt get it to look how I wanted :(

whats your design betty from vistaprint,

I thought they all looked v.v.v.v.v cheap

Erm... had some flowers on there :D

They do look cheap Ill admit, so I picked the best of the bunch. They suit my needs, I wouldn't recommend a pro get these :D

I'm going to give Goodprint a try after the disappointing results from Vistaprint, still waiting for a response from my complaint...

This time around I'm designing my own in CS3 & then just uploading to the Goodprint site, no need for their templates then - bit more expensive but probably worth it, going for the Matt Laminate option too

Can anyone tell me from experience how long Moo.com take to deliver the minicards? I need some for this weekend, and their website states 3 days printing and 1 day postage.. which is pushing it really fine!

Its unlikely you'll get them for the weekend, mine took over a week if memory serves :(
