When you guys are out shotting, and people come over and have a chat do you have a business card or the like that you offer them?

I used to but then ran out, they can be really great for networking to be able to hand someone your contact details. While on topic, where is the best place to have them done pretty decent?

I carry a few of the mini cards from moo.com

a card just looks more profeessional than a scribbled bit of paper and if you are trying to make an impression then the outlay for the cards will probably will be insignificant to the potential income.

always carry business cards, i get mine done at Goodprint, when they have offers on.

yep, i can vouch for goodprint.

Always carry cards with me, get 1000 printed, you will be surprised how difficult they are to get rid of.

Make sure they look good though, nothing worse than a cheap looking business card, just says "Tried, but not very hard"

Goodprint may not be the cheapest, but I'm more than happy with the quality, which I haven't been with other companies I've tried. You get what you pay for IMHO

I don't know what they could be doing then? I've been using 247 for a few years, quality is top notch, people are forever asking where I get my cards done when they see them

I use these guys over at ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/myprint-247, i chose to do my own artwork

good quality and dirt cheap, heres my card, its double sided with a calendar on the rear.

Details on card changed for security

I think it was that Ebay company who did me 500 to, cheap and very well done for the price

Cheers, what designs do you have on them and what details? Ive not got my own website setup. So probably just use a flickr account/phone/email

hi guys, if you set up an account on Vistaprint.com you get 250 free cards,
you just pay for the postage, they are a geniuine company, my brother has had some off them and i have just ordered some off them last night.

They also offer pens and labels etc.

Dion!

You could just buy a suitable domain and link it to your flickr page

For my cricket photos i use www.cricketsnaps.co.uk and link it to http://www.cricket.fotopic.net

Yeah ive got my own domain, how would I set this up?

Cool thanks, can you show us what your card you have ordered looks like?

umm, i havent actually had them yet mate!

Sorry, only ordered last night, ive opted for the cheaper postage option which was £3.50 odd

When i get them ill post a picture up for you!

Dion!

I have meant to get some made but never really though about it recently with all the other stuff I have been doing.

Its on the 09 list though....

Watch out for Vistaprint's monthly direct debit that you have to opt out of when ordering. It's caught an awful lot of people out.

Their quality is ok for small businesses BUT if you are promoting a photography business I would not want to use thinnish matt cards with someone else's image on them.

Warning, do not, i repeat do not touch Vista Print, they just steal from your bank account.

I use vistaprint. Have never had any money taken out of my account apart from what I pay them for my cards.:shrug:

moo.com and you get to choose a selection of your best images from flickr, I will be ordering more soon due to change of address cant wait to get the new pics on the cards

From moo.com ...

If you crop your pictures accordingly before you upload them, you can add your logo to the front and if you wish, choose to have every card with a different picture. I just chose 10 pics for 100 cards. And you get a handy carry case.

Another +1 for Moo cards from me (now all I've got to do is find people to give them too ;) )

Me and my partner are getting some made up soon, can't remember the name of the company but they sent us some samples through and they were of very high quality. Should be getting raised lettering and everything, when we order them...

Moo.com - fantastic, highly recommended. High quality product, very, very slick.
