Bulk Purchase...

It looks like we will be able to make the 100 rolls, perhaps more. Just out of interest how much will the cost per roll go down with orders larger than 100 rolls?

It goes down a little, I'm asking B&H at the moment if they are able to give discounts on large orders and what the minimum would be, but I suspect they would be huge

The only film I ever had issue with was Delta 3200 simply because it's such high ISO. The higher the ISO the more likely it'll fog etc.

I would imagine Astia would be fine.

Maybe old school scanners, and high speed film, but realistically no

I've had a response back and it's bad news, there's pretty much no way they can discount a film only order any further, so it's normal price I guess
 
Hmm.. I did some bulk B&W film enquiries a while back trying to go through Harman (Ilford supplier) directly, but they said they considered 100 rolls as too little...

Anyways, if someone can get a bulk purchase together, I'll certainly be in for 10-15 rolls of slide (Astia, Provia or Veliva will do) and the same in B&W (HP5 or Neopan would be great)... in 120 film
 
I now have the stuff for a darkroom so I need some normal black and white film for that. I maybe want 10-20 rolls too.
 
Oh, I am not sure what film would be best. I was going for the Ilford chemicals and paper if this is important.
 
If we can find out what a pallet consists of we could contact Fuji UK, it may be quite a bit cheaper considering where they are on the food chain. Currently it looks as though we will have an order for over 100 rolls of 120 Astia alone with people wanting to source Velvia and Provia too. That only covers positive film, I'm not sure if others would be interested in Fuji negative film too.
 
Assume a pallet is at the minimum one of those trolley/cage things (I suspect it's even bigger though) at, say, 3ft square and 6ft high. I have a box of 20 Reala here measures 7"x4.25"x2.75". For the sake of this discussion, lets add a bit to allow for the extra size of 120 rolls... call it 8"x6"x3". That's about 144 cubic inches per 20 films right? The pallet holds about 93,312 cubic inches... 648 boxes of 20 rolls 12,960. That's one hell of a bulk order even for TP.

Dream shattering stuff, oh well I'm still up for getting some Astia shipped in. Will get the rest from 7dayshop I guess (when it actually has some stock!).
 
I tried to order some from 7DS, and later got an email saying they couldn't ship me any due to it being D/C and that they wont be getting any more. Can find the email if you like?
 
Yeah, I'd take 10 rolls at that price. (I'm guessing about 3.50/roll?)
 
So far I count ~50 rolls Astia wanted which would put it around £4.80 a roll depending on exchange rates
 
Just finished my supply of Lucky 100ASA and will definitely be buying more. I prefer it to Rollei Retro although the Rollei (Agfa APX) is technically superior. The limited anti-halation gives pleasant light bleed on back lit subjects like this, and I've suffered from none of the problems with the batch I purchased. Continuing apols for the scan quality.
