Hey everyone :)

Following arthurs suggestion, Its time to guage interest once again for a bulk purchase...

What are we after?

Whos up for it?

Bry

Well, I'm after some bw, 36 exp, 100 to 400, 20 rolls tops. Want contrasty rather than smooth, but am thinking the Lucky will do.

... looking right now at the Rollei Retro - 20 rolls 400S, £39.80, 20 rolls 100, £32.50 (!!). Delivery charges on top but only £3.50 per 20 tops, may be £3.50 per order if it's big.

So, I'd rather like

10 x 400 and 10 x 100... anyone else?

Given the prices, I'd say allow £2 per roll of either (assuming a mix of 50/50) and the shipping out to me's covered. That means I'm OK to organise if nobody else wants to... but remember there're postage costs from me out to you!

Grainy B&W 35mm please! 10-20 rolls as a max.

Ps, will post some details of my film setup when I have taken some piccies!

I've got a load of slide film to get through but I'd be up for 5x100 and 5x400.

Am interested in B&W 120 film. The Rolli Retro sounds good but I'd consider other makes. I'd also be up for some Efke ir820 if there is enough interest.

I'm interested in an Astia bulk buy from the states if anyone else is interested

I'd be interesting in getting my hands on some Astia (120) too. Also joxby's suggestion, even if it is optimistic.

End of this year, that's it, The End...Fin
Fill yer boots.
I have to join FADU.

Could really do with a 3 for 2 supply from Boots again..:|

If you can't be bothered joining FADU I'll get it for you and you can send me the money.

I just knew we'd not get a consensus

Maybe we could just narrow it down to who wants to buy Rollei retro 100 and 400 and go from there?

Thing is, there is no discount on the prices above for the Rollei stuff... the only benefit of a "bulk" order is if you do not want 20 rolls of a particular speed.

So - who actually wants any of the Rollei 100 and 400 bw stuff, and how much?

What's the deal Kev ?, have you posted it before or is it a new source..

It's the same one I posted or linked to before mate.

I don't know much about the rollei stuff as I have only just really got into film. Is there anywhere I can read about it? I am used to HP5. Roughly how much would it work out to?

At any other time I would be up for getting say 10 rolls of Velvia 50, but due to 'other' purchases (mostly photography:lol:) that I really should not have got and the fact that I am supposed to be saving for University, I can't.

Another time prehaps:'(

I just bought 20 rolls of 135-36 HP5 and 20 rolls of 135-36 XP-2, so count me out - if the past is anything to go by it'll take me 10 years to get through it all...lol

This may (and probably will) sound quite mad but does anyone know what constitutes a pallet? Fuji UK orders stock in by the pallet, Talk Photography pallet anyone?

either its a tray or its an actual racked pallet ie forklift size :p

NOW we're talking!

Trust you :)

Seriously, is film that hard to get hold of nowadays?

Admittedly I've only two film cameras left anyway, one takes 127 roll film, so NO chance! The other's 135 but an EXA IIB is hardly going to cut it in todays terms (nice though). So in reality I'm not likely to go back to film.

But are supplies starting to be a problem?

There are some films that despite being made are not imported into this country by Fuji UK, this includes Astia and I believe Reala for 135. From a pricing perspective I would have thought a substantial discount would be possible with such an order. So long as it's low-ish speed film it will keep indefinitely in the fridge or freezer so you wouldn't have to shoot a large stockpile of film within a certain time period. Another nice benefit from doing such an idea (still purely theoretical) is that with an order of this size Fuji can see that film is still quite popular even if it is somewhat of a niche market.

Actually 127 film is availiable in B&W from here:

Check under the Rollei and Efke sections. You should be able to get somewhere to process it for you. Ilford Lab might do it as they say to contact them about developing other sizes or unusual formats.

If you look on Japan Exposure's, then there are a variety of films only availiable in Japan that they will inport to anywhere in the world practically.

I like the sound of Fuji Natura 1600, its supposed to be much better than any of the other 1600 speed C41 films in the UK. Not bad price either, about £22 for 3 rolls.

Could not see Astia in 135 though

Just picked up 20 rolls of Fuji 160C, 160F and 20 rolls of Ilford PanF 50. It'll be another year before I order again. Would loved to have bulk ordered on this one.

Just so people are aware, if we can get an order for 100 rolls of medium format (120) Astia together, we can order from B&H in the states and have it delivered,w ith duty and VAT paid by B&H, for about £4.20 a roll, not bad for a film which is no longer available in the UK.

Unfortunately ordering less begins to make the price prohibative as the delivery charge adds more cost per film

Now THAT is an interesting one. Astia will store in my Freezer yeah? I know most stuff does, but I've not used Astia before.

So far my freezer has 5x Ektachrome 100GX, 2x Ektar 100 and 3x Delta 100...I'm tempted to add to that stash.

I could easily do 25 rolls, perhaps more. Need to do some financial jiggery pokery first though!

Astia will freeze fine :)

Only last week I recieved 10 rolls of Astia in 120, I'd have been in on that buy otherwise!!!

Right, financial "jiggery pokery" is done. 25+ for me on the 120 Astia.

I want to get in on some astia if its happening, but need to sort out monies as I'm dead skint atm

Looks like we're going for Astia then! Should be good to complement my nice warm E100GX with a bit more faithful colour!

I'll have some Astia 120. Probably only 5 rolls though if that's OK? Could probably stretch to 10 if you need to make up the numbers though.

It looks like we will be able to make the 100 rolls, perhaps more. Just out of interest how much will the cost per roll go down with orders larger than 100 rolls?
