Does anyone make a film strip holder that basically fills the standard A4 flatbed scanner with transparency lid so you can batch scan a shed load of negs at once? I'm thinking of something that is about as complicated to use as the standard plastic sleeve you get negs returned in.

I've been using a dedicated film scanner to scan in old films and I'm bored witless with it now. I have an epson flatbed with reasonable resolution so I wondered whether it was possible to dump a whole film's worth on it at once and scan the lot?

Does anywhere sell clear neg sleeves that could potentially be scanned through? That would be a really cheap and easy solution.

You can just put all your negs on and place a glass slightly smaller than the size of your scanner.

Doesn't work with my scanner as its only got a strip worth of light source at the top of the lid so can only do 2 strips at a time.

P.S that's what I use for scanning sprockets , the glass thing.

I think mine is the same so it won't be much better than persisting with the film scanner.

Plan B.

Some kind of replacement lid/lid attachment with inbuilt light and snap in bulk film holder that would turn any flatbed into a bulk transparency scanner?

I've heard of some people using a mirror to reflect light back through the film with their flatbed scanners that aren't designed for film, not tried it myself but might be worth a go.

let us know if it works !
