So I've jumped feet first into bulk film and home loading 35mm cassettes. I've done my first batch and have no problems working into a blacked-out bedroom to get film into the daylight loader, onto spools and so on.
I'm presuming that the bulk film reel ought to go into freezer storage just like any other length of film and, as the home freezer is a working environment where space is at a premium, it needs to come out of the daylight loader, have the end re-taped, go back in a dark bag and back into the lightproff box whence it came. I am right aren't I?
That wasn't the real question however, this is:
Okay this is slightly more faff and I suppose it causes me to ask about the merits of freezer storage as opposed to low ambient room temperature: when does it become worthwhile?
