Well, ok so I had a little help using a Pixelpost template which I have modified and added to. This isn't a business site at all, just something from an enthusiastic amateur to hopefully give me another way in which people can see my work (other than on here, or Flickr).

There's a couple of things I need to sort still...

1. Some sort of contact method/form.
2. The 'Home' button currently takes you nowhere, but will lead to the root once I have something there.

Ok, here's the domain... nothing original...

Stick it in your bookmarks www.leeshephard.co.uk/blog

As ever, rip it apart, let me know what's wrong/right. Be honest, I can take it! I've gone for professional and simple, but might have missed the mark, not sure?

EDIT: Forgot to say... if anyone wants to do reciprocating links just let me know.

it looks great from here, you just need some extra time to fill it now!!

looks ok to me Lee but I did spot one thing. Don't take this the wrong way mate though.... the commentary on the pics you have posted struck me as being a bit apologetic? if you get my drift. imho you should be more "upbeat" about your work
I like the layout its nice and clean. I am thinking of doing something like this myself. what's the cost?

Like it....just needs more photos.

the design is lovley - Im wondering if a little white space at the top will make it look even better

Hi Lee,

That's a good-looking site. The layout/design is simple and understated. It's easy to navigate and read. Nice work.

Just one thing - you might want to watermark your images. I know it's not a business site, but you still don't want people taking your work.

What did you use to build it?

Have just had a quick read, and I see what you're saying. It's a confidence thing, I guess. For instance, the lighthouse pic - the composition is nice, and the colour in the wall is nice, but it needs better sky. I know this, so I'm sort of saying "here's a shot. i could do better if i had the time/patience/luck, but is it ok how it is?".

you might want to watermark your images.

I did wonder about that. Didn't want to do anything too heavy to distract.

What did you use to build it?

Pixelpost which is free. Then I downloaded a template which I've modified - did this in dreamweaver, but as I've never used dreamweaver before I was just editing the code anyways, so might as well have just used a text editor. It's quite easy, even for novices like me without any real coding knowledge.

The only cost was the domain (and a couple of mispellings that I also registered). Hosting is with a mate, but could be more expensive as you need MySql.

a little bump to try and get some feedback from you evening viewers :)

I like the layout and simple clean lines.

Not sure if you need such large image files for viewing on a monitor. Use smaller files, load faster and save viewers getting board and clicking over to you tube!!!

I think it's excellent mate
And I have fallen in love with the "Vanishing Point" photo....

i've got that layout installed on my home server, one of my fav's so far for pixel post

Really nice Lee - been meaning to jazz my weedy site up and this is inspiring stuff!

Yours is simple clean and elegant!

I'd like to C&C but home page takes ages to load, more than 1/2 minute and its still not there, you might want to take a look at that first.

Hmmm, are others finding the images slow? I've had no problems testing my end on various machines/connections. I kinda think image quality is important and I don't want jpeg compression artifacts. Obviously, if the files are too slow for people I need to know though please.

Looking at the stats, bounce rate isn't particularly high.

It would be a good idea to have the images loop around when you come to the end of the list.
