Nothing wrong with kingston.. It's just that Sandisk pioneered the technology.. As I said, I have and use both brands..

Agreed, I also have and use memory cards (and SSD drives) from sandisk. I have found the kingston I linked to above significantly faster for the money though. the sandisk extreme pro (equivalent speed to the kingstoke above) is £23 vs the £13 for the kingston.

i have to admit I tended to only use sandisk (when I wanted decent quality) before, having used the kingston more recently I am now a bit of a convert.

btw. To the OP, if comparing speeds of memory cards make sure you compare write speeds as well as read speeds, often the write is half the speed of the read and they only quote the read as a headline figure. It is also complicated further by the fact that the speed depends a lot on file size and even the product writing/reading from it. So, if possible rely on reviews when they have actually tested on a camera similar to yours.

All that said, I don't think you will go wrong with equivelent spec products from Sandisk, kingston, Toshiba and samsung. They are all decent brands. Whether you think it worth spending money on high speed cards like the Sandisk Extreme Pro or the Kingston I linked to depends on whether you are going to using the card hard - the main affect being time to write a file to the card (ie time to next shot if your camera buffer is full) and read speed when downloading to your PC.

agree about the Kingston, I have 4 of them due to this site HERE Camera Memory Speed Test

I have had no problems whatsoever and they are pretty nippy to say the least :)
