Hi all,

I am looking for a budget tripod around £20/30 what suggestions do you have? I am looking at the Velbon DF-41 or the PrimaPhoto PHKP001. I'm leaning more towards the Velborn though as it does look slightly better made.

What Camera and Lens combination do you intend using with it?
You are not going to get much for your budget and you could end up wasting your money.

I'm buying a FZ72 so that will be the camera I'll be using. I think total weight is around 500/600g. I'm not really expecting much but not much is better than nothing. The reviews online don't seem to bad?

I got one of these which is like a beefree but a lot cheaper but not with a sprung thread size under the fluid head

Only thing is the locking does the fluid and the tilt together. Below mounted on it. I did got a thread adapter stud but that was for this rig . The fluid head that comes with it is a mini head

the head that comes with it is small hence the stud to fit a velbon fluid head which cost £20 off ebay. comparison with Nikon enel3e battery but as said that was for a purpose

i got this for the same reason- cheap and collapses right down and legs spread really wide for low down shots and carrise up to 7lb load
Should be ideal for the camera you are thinking of getting

Plonk it down on any solid surface and it'll be far more stable than any £30 tripod. Easier to carry round as well. I've used mine for long (30s +) exposures with no wobble and also use it pressed against vertical surfaces (walls, lamp posts etc.).

it is an idea as well, I can see drawbacks with it such as trying to do a landscape from the middle of a field ,bit difficult to rest on a hedge for example
