My b-in-law has just bought the Canon Pixma IX6550 for ~ £150 - he is very pleased - says it gives him excellent results, and if you just want a decent printer without all the extra bells and whistles, it's worthy of putting it on your wish list.

I was in my local CURRYS (Uddingston) yesterday and they had an Epson 1400? on sale at £199.00.

Im no expert but the canon pixma IX6550 is great i also purchased it for £150 and results are fantastic
