Hi guys

I'm thinking about buying the following setup, I don't usually buy cheap but have heard good reviews about the following stuff? Just want confirmation before setting ways with £300! This gear will be used with my 5d3.

Any opinions on this setup? Will be used mainly for on location studio type shots. Plan on using 2 brolleys, and 1 bare flash as a hairlight/backlight.

Opinions please!

Thanks

For about the same money, you could get a studio kit instead - with near instant recycling, much better control of the light, the ability to expand by adding light shaping tools, and with modelling lamps...
And of course the studio kit will also include lighting stands, which you will also need.

What you're planning to buy will give you enough QUANTITY of light, but it's quality that matters, not quantity.

Won't I need AC power for that though? The thing I liked about this setup is that its fully mobile.

Also, I already have 1 brolley and 1 set of the transceivers, and 3 lightstands so will only need to invest £250ish.

Decisions, decisions...

The triggers are overkill unless you already have ETTL flashguns. They can only 'control' ETTL guns. They'll fire the YN560 but then so would a YN603 with no need for a receiver.
I'd also scrap the brolly, if you already have one, you'll be better putting money into a decent softbox instead.

<points up> I bought a very similar setup and it's great for the money, but I wish I'd bought a softbox instead. Any pointers on cheap decent ones, maybe with a grid attachment option, Phil?
