March 2001 is the magic date. Anything after that will be hit by the new charges.

Forcing shops to charge for plastic bags is a good one, but it shouldn't be stupid amounts like 5 or 6 pence. It should be AT LEAST £1 for a bag. There is no reason for people to even require plastic bags, other than picking up dog muck.

So what do you buy from shops when you go to do some shopping then? give us a list :)
 
I shop in the Coop, their plastic bags are biodegradeable, they break down in under 2 years.

What' that got to do with anything? If you're interested in how I carry it home then I'll tell you. I have a large ruck sake and a couple of tote bags. :P
 
Well plastic bags believe it or not, are made from plastic :) so anything you buy like Milk containers or even the local chineese takeaway don't use plastic nah? :D

My car is a Mondeo Zetec 1.8 petrol (125bhp) which at the moment costs me £165 per year road tax.

The new table shows my car (which produces 184g/km) will pay £260 next year. :shake:

Just had a quick look at the Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI (170BHP), that only knocks out 151g/km which is £150. Time for a change of car me thinks.....

just had a look, i think ive got the same engine as you in a focus, takes the ****, i didnt notice that they'd changed the band. so my car now jumps up to £260

bunch of ********s, think ill be looking at swapping my car next year, or rather sell it and buy something a bit older!


obviously ill be writing to the government asking for a grant so i can buy a car that polutes less...
