Looking at heading up to Oulton Park week Saturday for the day to watch a bit of the qualifying and practice.

Does anyone have knowledge of this circuit and recommendations of where best to get some decent pics?

All new to me, so any tips and advice are more than welcome...

I am sure there is a thread on Oulton and where best to shoot. For me, I like Deers Leap, Foulstons and coming up Clayhill.

Forgot, BTCC uses the Island circuit so it would be good to catch them at Island Bend.
 
There's loads of good places to stand around Oulton. The final corner before the start/finish straight usually has an incident or 2, or if you walk backwards round the circuit - don't have a map to hand so can't tell you the corners but you have good views at the next corner - see cars approach for a longish time. Then carry on walking all the way back to the hairpin. Have fun!

Good point, Old Hall is good. Truth is, it is a great circuit for views.

Its a great circuit - my local. You can walk round virtually all of it with great views, can get close to track / action and with the exception of a few places, no catch fencing :).

It will be busy for the BTCC weekend, so park up enjoy yourself. Should be some great racing.
 
I shall be there on Saturday all being well. Look for a numpty trying to shoot it with a mirrorless Fuji. :D

For £14 it's a pretty full on day. And it starts earlier on the Saturday which is a bonus! Never shot there, but have been there as a speccy. Tis a great circuit!
 
If I can change a few things, I am also hoping to be there for the Saturday. Hope getting in is not like a race day:(
 
Have been tying to decide whether to head up for the Saturday or Sunday. Was planning on Sunday but as it's my first time at Oulton I think I might go for the Saturday. I'm thinking it will be quieter finding my way around. I guess there just won't be as many pack shots.
 
Hope everyone has a great time at Oulton, despiate my best planning I am bloody well bed bound as sick as!
