Yes
I already have sky sports package and really only use it to watch the odd game of football but mainly for the moto GP, but seeing as euro sport have lost that now as well I was looking to get the BT sports.

What I want to know and I cannot seem to find out is do I need the sky sports package to get the BT sports or can I have BT sports as a stand alone program???

This is going to get expensive if I have to keep sky sports too.

Thanks

Spike

I did look at their site but it does not really say for sure, just thought someone might have already done it on here.

As BT are not Sky, I can't see how you'd be forced to have Sky Sports if you want BT Sport. But no doubt a forummer who has contracted it will be able to confirm soon.

Do you have BT Broadband at home, if so the app can run on your tablet/phone/pc free of charge. You need a set top box to get it onto your TV, or an Hdmi conversion plug for your other device and an hdmi lead (or so I am told). I have the app on my tablet and it seems ok, although I havent tried live streaming to my tablet yet. Got a flipping HD freeview box earlier in the year to watch MotoGP in HD only to then find BT had bought the rights - damn!!!

I have BT Sports on my Sky box. I don't have (or pay for) Sky Sports.

I do have BT Infinity broadband so I got sports free. Don't know if that offer is still on.

you don't need to subscribe to SkySports to get BT sports and if you have BT broadband then it is free- either through your sky box or online

Thanks guys, all sorted now and they will even supply it to me here in Guernsey.

OK off to cancel sky sports and get the BT sports and its cheaper lol.

Thanks again

Bt infinity here too so sports is free for non HD. If you want HD it's just a few quid a month.

Had their fibre broadband a while now...unlimited, and it is smokin' fast and has never yet stuttered.

If you just want the sports you can add it to your sky box but you do it through bt not through sky. And you dont have to keep sky sports.

Yep, 15 pounds a month for it in HD, that's BT Sport 1 HD, BT Sport 2 HD, and ESPN HD.

Is it 15 quid for hd even with infinity? Blimey!

Or. ITV player show it on a Monday (moto gp that is). Dire commentary though.

The Indy 500 is coming up!
I'm seriously considering getting BT sport for this and Moto GP, but already have Sky (for the cricket and league speedway) and Premier (for NASCAR) so it all adds up.

I'm not changing my ISP to BT Internet to get it bundled, because I select my ISP based on technical features and quality of service rather than "getting a deal" and "UNLIMITED!!!!!!!!!".

As an aside, to anyone that has (or is getting) BT Sport but doesn't have a Sky Box or smart tv, the Google Chromecast device has the BT Sport app on it which gives you an easy way to watch it on TV. You still need to subscribe but the quality even on SD broadcasts is more than acceptable on the large screen.

Enough exclamation marks there?

Good for you.
All the "tech" I needed to know was will it download things quickly....and will it let me download a lot.
It suceeds on both counts and so far the quality of service has been just fine.
Job done, I believe.

I have it on my Sky HD box, and bundled with my Infinity BB....

Their Rugby Union coverage is excellent, IMO - I just mentally block out Austin Healey ;) - much better than Sky Sports.

BT are VERY serious about this - yes, it's essentially about selling broadband, but they believe they are going a great job of it and are looking to expand their profile. They already provide shirt-sponsorship to Glasgow & Edinburgh rugby teams, have negotiated a stadium-naming deal with Cardiff Blues for Cardiff Arms Park and are, I believe, negotiating a similar shirt deal with all 4 Welsh rugby regional sides.

It's only going to grow.....

You can get the motogp highlights on ITV4 the next day. Im a motogp fan with sky broadband and tele. I refuse to pay an extra £12 per month to watch a sport that isn't even on every month of the year. Plus's the fact bsb and wsb are more entertaining at the moment, motogp is a bit predictable now... Marquez is amazin.
