Not that Im a cheapskate but I do like value for money :)

Anyway, I was with BT broadband for years and took advantage of the free flickr pro account status with the bt email.

However, we've moved away from bt completely to sky and save about £20 a month for a better deal.

BT don't let you keep the old email though, only for 3 months which was up last week so we're offered an upgrade to pay £1.60 a month to keep the email so I've paid that in the hope it may be a loophole to keeping the flickr pro.

Guess what? It's not

Got an email today and it says its been downgraded, so now theres ads all over it:bat:

Oh well.

/etc/hosts is a good place to kill ads

see here http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I am 'pro' but I will probably not pay again due to not enough business gained through them

Im using a mac so dont think that would work for me even if i could figure it out lol, however, ive installed an adblocking chrome browser extension after reading your suggestion which seems to have worked

It would work on your mac as well.

Not an elegant solution but it is free and works most of the time.

Adblock plus is the way forward though. Just remember to unblock ads on sites you want to support.

I'm using macs and it works really well. I did it to my android too - best decision ever!

I hate addon software even if it means playing around every couple months to update the list.

For those of us still with BT, as BT is disassociating itself from Yahoo! "later in the year" I suspect all of us who had 'pro' accounts through BT will find ourselves with the adverts.
