This happens in Vista and Ubuntu so could this indicate a hardware problem, ie, the hard drive failing? The hard drive has been running more or less constantly for a while now and I did wonder why, then blue screens, constant re boots and then last night everything onscreen frazzled and it shut down.

The first blue screen error was 0x000000e3, I've been through all sorts of recommended fixes and stuff and thought I'd fixed it a couple of times but after a couple of minutes bosh!, it crashes again. The error codes seem to change each time as well which is why I wondered if it may be hardware related:bang::thinking:

Poxy computers:bonk:

Have you tried a system restore from safe mode, also perhaps clearing all your temp folders too before rebooting

I did reply to you earlier Neil but the post has vanished??

I can't remember my admin password now:bang: but will try that when I find it.

Thanks

Can't remember or find the administrator password for this machine, Oh dear....

All fixed hopefully, it was even crashing in safe mode this morning ?? then a load of updates arrived and it seems okay now even the hard drive has stopped running all the time.

Fingers crossed.
