So this season I will be following all rounds of the British Superbikes and I have never been to any of the tracks other than Donington park. I'm wondering where the best places to get some great shots are from behind the barriers at all rounds. Any Help on Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Thruxton, Knockhill and Assen would be greatly appreciated. Also any photos so I can see visually would be great.

Oulton park has a good guide here www.mattsayle.co.uk/OultonParkPhotographersGuide.pdf Great circuit for photos there's only really one bad part for catch fencing!

Brands has lots of places without having to shoot through the fence and a great circuit to see the action and visit the paddock for the support racers.

The inside and outside (through fence) of Druids and Paddock Hill Bend with a long lens at Brands Indy.

For the GP circuit it's worth the walk all the way round taking in Paddock Hill, Druids, Hawthorns, Stirlings the start of Pilgrims Drop straight (for wheelies) and Surtees. Its all good though. If you have 400mm take it and something wider for the inside of Druids.

Thanks @PINNACLE & @Colin Port Images. I will be using a 70-300mm lens for some long shots and good close ups, I will also have a fisheye lens however, I haven't used them in a race setting yet. so knowing good positions is brilliant

Oulton is a great track an can produce some great shots. With it being local to me i go there alot for various events. As mentioned Druids is a great place to get shots from - the entry to the corner for angles. If you time it right you can get them coming over the hill with a slight lean on.Then walk further round the corner an usually the riders hit the crest an the front wheel lifts. Ive got a few from there an looking forward to going back for the BSB.

We're lucky to have some great tracks in the UK - Cadwell Park, Oulton Park, Brands Hatch GP - are all excellent viewing with lots of variety! BSB at Cadwell is pretty mega, the Mountain section is definitely "wow" the first time you see them over there in person :-)

I shoot at Brands a lot, actually made a page with a few pics, have a look here - http://www.ae-photography.co.uk/brands_hatch_photography.html - maybe it'll help a bit.

Cheers

Top of the mountain at Cadwell but you have to get there early
Great place for shots of the bikes getting airborne

knock hill go to the grandstand seating at the bend
the bikes have to really slow down before the big long straight
usually a bit of carnage as riders bash one another trying to get the best line

I will be using a 70-300mm lens for some long shots and good close ups

For Oulton, you'll manage fine with 70-300 lens.

Oulton is a great track where you can walk round most of it and get some very good shots. Obviously as you're aware race day is generally packed, so if you can do practice day etc then you can choose the exact positions you wish to go to for race day.
