:help:I am in need of a lot of in put from photography friends, can you please spare the time to have a look at my website and tell me what you would change, take off, add, etc I dont want it looking like it is now all higgledy piggledy.

If anyone knows wordpress then Id appreciate any info, the site is www.wheelsphotogallery.co.uk (BE BRUTALLY HONEST) please.:help:

I'm not a fan of the banner at the top, the colours just don't seem to work.

I would certainly get some content working on the main page, rather than an error message, this is the biggest problem.

When I clicked through to the galleries that was fine, but when I clicked to view the images larger the only option was to scroll through the images, there was no option to close the overlay, even pressing "Esc" didn't close it (Firefox on XP). So I closed the tab, I imagine people would stay on the site longer if this wasn't the case.
 
In wordpress you need to have a default content page. I had this problem when fiddling about setting up the posts page and normal pages. You need one set for the posts content or you get errors with rss too.
 
I just tried to have a look and the main page loads with the main banner but there is no content? :thinking:
 
I've had a look, and I also can't find any content bar the portrait of the kids.

I also like the banner image, but would like to see it a lot sharper...it looks very soft on my screen.

Craikeybaby commented on the gallery, but I can't find any gallery...I'm assuming you're still working on that?

Anyway, you've done better than I ever could...I wouldn't have a clue how to set up a website! Keep at it...I've bookmarked the site to keep an eye on your progress.

I have taken it down Janet and starting from scratch "AGAIN"
 
It might be worth downloading WAMP/XAMP/MAMP and installing Wordpress locally, rather than using your live site for development.
 
The layout looks good I reckon, all you need now is some content. I dont see any gallery yet - how are you handling that. I use the NextGEN gallery plugin.

Mine is is a similar style here if you see anything on there that you like and need some help just ask :)
 
The portrait of Ben and Molly on the index page (?jds_9859) seems to be just Molly and oddly cropped at that.
