weekly Bruja's 2016 52 - CELEBRATION

Absolutely fab! What a wacky arty idea (would like to see the whole thing, in context as it were). Top catch for the Simple theme. (y)

Really like Simple such a bright and colourful image that really pulls your eye in

Thanks Mark (y)

Cheers David, I'll get you a shot of it this week ;)

Love the imagery in Simple... really compelling image. Not sure what it was / how you've shot it, but as a picture it works really well! No crit at all (y)

Thanks Paul. It's shading in a shopping mall :)

You know, images need to have that little extra something to bring them alive - a photo of just a sign just wouldn't cut it. At face value your Sign image is just a sign ...... to the less observant among us that is !!!! ha ha ha. I like Stone - beautiful colours and perspective Jill

Hi Jill :)

Simple - Spot on, lovely colours and like the diagonal split between the colours

Danger - Oooooo now that was a surprise :D excellent idea again and I also like that you have made it not too obvious by having quite a tight crop - love it :)

Re-shoot - Cracking colours and loving the height and depth captured in the frame, another nice one :)

Jill I just love your pictures and sense of fun, although not part of the challenge I just can't resist popping into to see your latest entry and you
never disappoint, keep it up, brightens my day :)(y)

Old / stone. That looks to be an interesting old building that's for sure.
And I'm also sure this isn't Mr B at the end there, and you weren't calling him old at all.
(But "knowing" you :D )

Sign. PMSL Jill it took me awhile ;)
I'm glad to see the sense of fun is still running through your thread

Thanks Carl. I do like to tease ;) The building is the Catedral de Cordoba also known as the Mezqita. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosque–Cathedral_of_Córdoba

Very, very old (unlike MrB :p)

And didn't you know that subtlety is my middle name? :p

Jill, like the reshoot of the stone theme, to be honest not sure about the sign

Hi Chris, Sign is a bit of fun if you put it in context :p

Stone is the Mezqita of Cordoba.

I saw sign and looked... again and again before I realised I was seeing what I thought I was.

Very funny and well captured. Stone reshoot is good but it has to be sign :)

Glad you find me amusing and, in case you hadn't noticed, I like using my body as a backdrop :angelic: I wouldn't do anything as simple as a simple sign :D

Sorry Jill, I'm not laughing at you at all... what I found funny was the fact I thought it was that immediately and then told myself off, "no, that's just me being crude"... only to find it wasn't ;)

Don't apologise, I was being ironic :p (and crude :ROFLMAO:) And trying to see whether people would actually notice. Always expect the unexpected

Is it what I think it is? authorised personnel only. :naughty:

Stone .. lots of it there ... intriguing place.

Really good fun image for Sign Jill nice B&W conversion too.

Nice image for your stone reshoot too

Great take on sign, edgy, witty and a good mono conversion thrown in.

Lots of interest in the reshoot, nicely done.

Hi Jill ......I finally got Sign on a second look ...duh ...I'm getting too old for this ...anyway I really liked it first time around ....a very eye catching shot :)
Smashing choice for Stone ...love all those arches.

Thanks Susie, Cordoba is fab if you' ve never visited it before

Sorry about the lack of blue sky but it was still 30C

And now for Flora. That almost buttery sunflower spread..........

2 to choose from and both show the vastness of parts of the Spanish landscape. They were taken through the window of a speeding coach with my iPhone pressed tightly against the glass/

The first is self explanatory and the second is an example of the amount of olive cultivation that goes on around Cordoba and Granada.

So much makes me want to be there, it's a good few years since I was last in Spain and you are making me miss it. Two good photos of the local scenery especially considering the coach/iphone technique and as a pair, a well thought out take on Flora or should that be Bertoli?

First one with the sunflowers for me, just seems to work better though both worthy of the theme

Sneaky Jill, very sneaky :D

2nd for me as there is a lot more happening :)

Sign - what are you like?!! Can't wait for active
Wonderful shot of the mezqita..I do wish I'd been more into photography when I lived there - so many wonderful sights to capture. I definitely need to get back for a visit...if only for Granada!
I really like both you flora, too - they really bring out the vastness of the landscape as you say and not bad at all for the circumstances (y)

Excellent Jill - love those manicured fields best and the blue/green contrast.

Hi Chris, yes the scenery between Córdoba and Granada is pretty spectacular. Lots of olive groves and sunflower fields, whereas around Almeria it's oranges, lemons, mandarins, figs and olives of course. Around May time when the orange groves are in bloom the smell is incredible.

Jill, must admit I like the last flora, loads of detail in the far distance, rows and rows, nice

Thanks Chris, they are very precise about their planting.

Cheers Alan, I just wanted to show the vastness of flora and glad you think they worked.

Moi! Sneaky!! From the Shoehorn Queen!!

Actually that just reminded me of your I want to break free pic last year. It was a cracker :exit:

Hi Emma, I seem to be causing quite a few regrets this week. I'd been to Córdoba 8 years ago but wasn't really into photography and just took the typcal point and shoot pics with my point and shoot camera. No camera phones in those days  I actually prefer Granada though and we ususally have an overnighter there every couple of months as it is only a couple of hours or so away.

Excellent Jill - love those manicured fields best and the blue/green contrast.

Thanks Carl, they are very precise in their planting aren't they.

Love the colour of Sunflower shot and I thought you done excellently well to capture the shot with an iPhone in a speeding coach.

Cheers Stan, two contrasting shots have divided opinion....a bit like Brexit but on a slightly smaller scale :p

Its OK everyone will be shoe horn wise by the end of the year, even if it kills me :D

Ah yes, I must admit it came out better than expected .. Eggcellent in fact :D

I like the idea of the sunflower crop.

Re-shoot?

Tough choice Jill but No 2 just edges it for me loads of detail and love the patterns in the distant landscaoe

Nice two images for Flora, Jill. I think the first one for me - I find the sunflowers themselves more interesting.

The only thought that comes to mind though is to stick on a wide angle and get closer in, so we have some bigger sunflower action in frame, with those fantastic hills and blue sky in the background?? Lovely scenes though (y)
