Hi Jill ....good to see you're still here :)

I love your Technology ....very effective. The composition, the b&w, the texture of the string ...absolutely spot on for me.

Horizontal ...another super shot, I really like the simplicity of it, great choice of framing too.
 
Technology - That’s really brilliant! A great idea for the theme and well composed and lit! :)

Horizontal - I think it’s a pretty picture. I like the muted colours with the complementary peach and brown hues. Also, the pebbles frame the wood really nicely. Pleasing photograph!

Your image for Technology is absolutely fantastic I remember playing with phones like that! Love the B&W conversion

And Horizontal is great too I love the subtle colours and the detail in the wood and pebbles
 
Technology is just great, all olde worlde tin cans and proper string ... lighting looks good too, but the blackness down bottom looks a bit iffy, needs smudging or something.

Horizontal ... serious textures, wood & stone ... but not sure about the frame, and not sure it really says horizontal ... I do like it tho.

Hi Jill, good to see you posting - don't give up! That's a great idea for Technology, well set up with those shiny cans and all that string, and B&W is the right choice. Horizontal suits the theme perfectly well and I think your addition of the frame in a complementary colour works well. Nice textures in the wood and stones, too :thumbs:
 
Hi Jill, I really like Horizontal. It might be your PABD shot for that theme, but's simple and perfectly put together for me. Sometimes the simplest shots work the best. The texture and depth from the stones and wood mean that even though you've shot it straight on, it has plenty of interest and doesn't look flat.

Technology is good, but I prefer Horizontal!
 
you know when the forecast says thunderstorms as well as cats and dogs..... and then you see this..... and you just sit and let your mind escape.. (y)
 
I love both shots for technology and horizontal. The black and white was a great choice and the textures and colours of the other are great. The lines in the second definitely say horizontal to me. As for vast...it's just making me nostalgic for my years in Spain...!

Technology - Probably a more reliable connection than I was getting on VM today... Good take on the theme. Slightly distracting crease (perhaps) at the bottom of the image.
Horizontal - Perhaps not the most inspired shot, but it certainly works.
It's the type of work you might expect to see hanging in tea shots at various seaside resorts, so perhaps it might work as 'stock'.
Vast - You know what, sometimes.... ;)
 
That is a beaut Jill - picture postcard material. It has a strong green cast to it .... but that's only because I am gazing on it with Envy. Grrrrrr! :clap:

Horizontal - Ooo I like this, my type of image for my side project, a great combination of textures, and the frame goes really well too :)

Keep on in there Jill, what would you do with all the time if you were not doing this with us, I know... interesting and fun things :D
 
Vast, :bat::giggle:

Vast indeed, my eye is drawn to the white roof on the RHS, but no big issue. The lack of clouds adds to the vastness.

Yes, I like that and it's well captured. I agree with @posiview about the white roof but also think a crop would help the distant background as the horizon looks a bit distorted on that far right too? Well put together though, definitely on theme and a nice take (y)

Hi Tim, thanks for the feedback. And as for Vast, there are virtually no trains in Spain compared to the UK so you'd get withdrawal symptoms I fear ;)

Cheers Dean. I think that was the only tech in my childhood. They hadn't even invented calculators :eek:

I'm doing my best to keep up but commenting seems beyond me at the moment as I find it exhausts me pretty quickly and that puts me off a bit :(

It's an iPhone panoramic shot so the horizon should be ok. I agree about the white wall on the rhs, it's a tad distracting (y)

Initially, it doesn't really say Vast as it's all about slightly modest FG residences but OK there's vastness on the horizon.

Yet ............... This is not only a pleasing sunny image but also an extremely clever and effective use of the wide angle and broad DOF.

Snow is precipitation in the form of flakes of crystalline water ice that falls from clouds.

Horizontal - Pleased you didn't have chance to take something else, really loved this when I first saw and still think it's a great photo.

wow, that's a beautiful vast view to have.....my current view is out of an office window looking at the roof of the building next door (although I can see a small square of blue sky.

Effort - really like this, it must take some effort running in the heat.

Technology - That is a brilliant shot, great idea, very imaginative and well lit.

Horizontal - Great image I love the abstract nature of it and it definitely fits the brief.

Thanks Steve. I saw it on a walk along the green way which starts with a bit of preserved railway line and thought 'that'll do' :)

Yes, I love my view. We can see for more that 20 km :)
