weekly Bruja's 2015 52 CHRISTMAS and DONE!!!!

Add another to the the happy list :)

Great shot. Fits the theme very well. I don't mind the shadow. I'm guessing a bit here as it's in mono but I do think the lipstick colour in the lines of the lip is a bit of a distraction though.

I need a make up artist I think ;)

Hi Jill,

Another cracking shot from you! I just love this - the processing works fine for me and the shadow's hardly visible - great stuff:clap:

Hi Jill,

Mouth - Not much left to say that hasnt been said, lol. I was also guilty of smirking, but it is a great shot and fits the theme well.

That's a 1980s Athena poster right there!

The washed out processing works really well here, with the banana almost blending into the background at times. The composition suits too.

I like the minimalist touch here Jill

and what's this about Newcastle being freezing cold? It was positively tropical today, I managed to get down to the beach :ROFLMAO:

Saw this on Flickr and thought it was brill. Love the simplicity and the quick thinking behind it.

My only crit would be that something to add context would help. It could just as easily be a photoshop creation as a photograph.

That said, it's still a really strong image. I'm really enjoying your thread. Never quite sure what's coming next and that's a good thing!

Understated, effective and spot on the theme. Well done.

Thank you kind sir (y)

Hahahhahahah, glad you like it Lorraine, and I can't wait to get back to the sunshine :coldfeet:

Plan B certainly works. I like the bold lettering. Minimal and gets the theme across.

Thanks Michael (y)

Hi Ian, glad I'm keeping you guessing :D. There's now an alternative on flickr if you fancy a look :)

That's the one :)

Very good indeed Jill......I'm loving your challenge thread a lot :-)

LOL very clever Jill, not even a hing of a double entendre :D
Plain and simple works well, #1 for me

Hi, simple is sometimes the best interpretation, well done for that

Hi Jill

Mouth...well, what can I say ? Love it....the pp suits it perfectly, kinda soft n misty, lovely crop & sharp as needs be.....& I don't mind the shadow as it's so feint and helps give a bit of depth to the image (y)

Crowd.....hmm, simple & on theme but way to normal for you :D

Vertical - Yeah sorry I’m not keen on the double border but wonder if a single black line around would work?

Mouth - ooo errr mrs. Maybe I’m a man so see the suggestive nature of this - apologies. As for the photo the conversion has suited the subject as has the crop

Crowd - Simple but effective shot and a clever take on the theme

Thanks Allan - I'm definitely simple minded ;)

Hi Lynne, glad you like Mouth  and, Crowd, what can I say.......normal service will be resumed this week perhaps, but, in my defence, I was on holiday ;)

Hi Peter, and thanks for dropping by. Borders are like Marmite aren't they :D. Suggestive, moi? :naughty:, cough, cough (Just getting one of my five a day :ROFLMAO:) I sometimes think that you need to really really clever to do something really simple and uncomplicated, then other days I just think I'm taking the lazy way out :(

Interesting thread you have. Lots of variety. I really like WATERY, I admire your BOLDness, and I think MOUTH is absolutely stunning.
Congratulations from up North!! (Well, Barcelona actually)

Thanks Bob, and I love Barcelona, been there twice now so think I maybe need to give Valencia a go :)

Well, what a couple of weeks this had been. Went to Newcastle to visit family and friends and the weather was horrible. Cold, damp, cloudy, cold, raining, cold, windy, and COLD! Needn't have taken my camera :( The amount of pain I suffered and the intense difficulty I had walking on very stiff legs just reminded me how much my health has deteriorated in the last dozen years. The combination of MS and arthritis meant a double whammy in the Newcastle weather and I have vowed never to go back in the winter (although sometimes the weather is just as bad in the summer ;)) So I was really looking forward to getting home on Thursday night, and, guess what, it has rained every day since I came back :bat:It has meant I have been missing in action this week and haven't commented on anyone's submissions so at least I've been consistent :D

Onto this week's theme, Close Up.....

I had lots of ideas for this but eventually narrowed it down to two......

The first one is yet another 'selfie' o_O

And the second is from my garden, a picture of which I've just uploaded to my flickr, so have a peek if you want :)

Ooooh. Number 2 for me, that's a fantastic alternative shot.
You almost get a 'that dress' effect scrolling the image too. Much Like...

I do hope that it warms up in Spain and you start feeling better.

Hi Jill,

I'm sorry the weather in Newcastle has played havoc with your MS, I hope it eases now you're back home.

I'm in agreement with Tim & Susie - that second shot is the best of the two - the green just grabs your eye, and the focus is spot on - great stuff

More nakid flesh, I can't stand any more, its not good for me at my age you know :D

Close up #2, very colourful and detailed

Hi, No2 for me also great detail and i like how its fans out from the bottom left (y)

Hi Jill
Sorry the UK visit is messing with your MS :( Feel better soon.

CLOSE UP....got to be number 2 for me as well here.....lovely vivid shot.

MS and Arthritis ... how horrid, poor thing.

Jill, I think

#1 would look better without that fold of blanket making your left side a bit shapeless.

#2 makes a great image. (y)

Hi Tim, the reason #2 was an alternative was that I though it was too easy a shot for me, but public opinion had proved me wrong once again

As for me and Spain, today is the last day of rain forecast and tomorrow they are forecasting 24 as opposed to the 13 today so I'll be better soon :)

Hi Jill ... the second one for me too...it makes an interesting abstract style image, good choice of composition and colour.

Weathers been lovely in the UK ...hope its warmed up for you too.

Thanks Susie and the weather is due to warm up tomorrow (y)

That's your lot Chris so your blood pressure's safe now  Nothing else I'm prepared to reveal as I've caused enough damage already ;)

# was the alternative as I just thought it was very ordinary :( but it appears I was wrong (again ;))

Hi, No2 for me also great detail and i like how its fans out from the bottom left (y)

Thanks for the kind thoughts Ruth and glad you like #2 - it's unanimous I think :D

Thanks David, yes, it's a double whammy but at least I've got photography to take my mind off it, I suppose it's a kind of therapy (although an expensive one sometimes )
