Hi all,

I'm off to Findland in June on a Bear trekking experience and I'm quite a novice when it comes to photography.

From what I am told the lighting conditions when the bears will be most active is at dusk which should last roughly 6-9 hours due to the midnight sun. They will be anything from 5-35 meters away. I shall be staying in a secure hyde so I will be using a tripod if necessary.

I will be using a Canon 600D but am unsure of what lens to use. I know none of the lenses I have will be sufficient enough (from what I gather) so I will be renting a high end lens.

Any thoughts on what lens I should use and if anybody could give me any tips I'd be really greatfull.

70-200mm f2.8 L or the 70-300mm L with either a x1.4 or x2 converter minimum on monopod prefurably on tripod

I'd second the Canon 70-200 f2.8, it would be perfect for your trip.

Its one of our most popular rental lenses.

the 70-200 f2.8 is a crackin lens. Add a teleconverter and you'll be good to go.
