No
so i just won one on ebay for £360, with 120 back, 80mm 2.8 lens and prism viewfinder.

whats the main differences between the prism VF and the waist level viewfinder?

also if someone could recommend me a light meter to use with flash guns that'd be good/ any videos tutorials on how to use a light meter for a total beginner

A prism VF will be like using a your 550D - you have the body at eye-level and look toward your subject. With a WLF you just look down of the focusing screen surrounded by a little pop up hood.

Some prism VFs also have metering.

Thanks, i understand the physical differences. does the body not have a metering system?

Nope the SQ-Ai does not have any metering in it.

If you want a metering head for the SQ-Ai then keep an eye out for one of the following:
ME Prism Finder S
MF Finder S
AE Prism Finder SQ-i (not very common)

I think the only medium formats with metering in the body are the Rollei SLX & 6000 range plus the Hasselbald 200 series, both not cheap.

Hand held meter that will do flash? Sekonic L308 spring to mind.

another newbie question. the bronica syncs with flashes at 1/500 right? also, if i have two 120 backs, one loaded with portra one loaded with velvia, can i switch between the two half way through rolls or does it not work that way? thanks.

Yup

Provided you have the dark slide for both backs then yup, you can switch the backs part way through a roll...just make sure that you set the ISO correctly if you're using a metered prism ;)
