Hi all. New to this forum malarkey but I have a problem in need of fixing.
I have the above lens and it takes a 90mm filter thread. I've searched high and low but cant find 90mm filters.
Is there a holder I can adapt to fit? I'm easy with rubber bands and blue tack if needed. I'm thinking of a holder for 100mm square filters adapted to fit.

Hope someone has a more elegant solution than my cardboard and masking tape efforts!

100mm filters may be a bit tight on a 40mm lens. I did a quick search on eBay 90 to 95 step up rings can be had but I can't think of a 100mm holder that you could put in front of it

Thank you. I can only find 86mm step up to 95mm.

Please tell me the issue with 100mm square filters and why they could be a problem?

Hmm, yes. This was the type of solution I was thinking of but it is an expensive one.

The 40mm will have quite a wide angle of view, the hole through the middle of the filter holder is slightly smaller than 100mm and sits forward of the front of the lens so there is a possibility that you you will see the holder in the corners of the shot, without testing there really is no way to know

Well, I had a bit of trouble sourcing a hood for my 50, and that's only 82mm.
Since its a clamp on hood rather than threaded, and since I do not like paying ludicrous sums for daft giant accessories, I'd be looking at a hack.
I'm going with a 95mm screw in filter reversed so the filter lip surrounds the outside of the 90mm thread on the lens.
Fix with bluetack.....:p

or mebbe there is room to drill and thread some thumbscrews in the filter rim, I dunno what the tolerance is for that though.
