Yes
So the second roll I put through this camera came back blank. The first roll was reasonably successfull. This roll was shot using a different back and was Fuji Pro 400 film.

I was also using off camera flash on this roll. I was triggering the flashes with a Yonguno YN622 on the hot shoe of the speed grip. I metered for the flashes with my Seconic flash meter and I was at about 1/160, f11 with the main flash on about 1/4 power if I remember correctly.

I did have some problems getting the yn622 trigger into the hot shoe and had to use a plastic spatula to push the pins up to get it into the hot shoe.

Nevertheless the flashes were definately firing but the film was entirely blank.

The only thing I can think of was that I must have loaded the film wrong but I don't remember noticing anything different from the previous roll. Anyone have any other ideas?

Left the dark slide in? :exit:

On a more serious note, I don't know how the Bronica works but on my RZ it's really easy to use mirror lock-up and trigger the shutter separately; I don't suppose the mirror could have triggered the flash but the shutter fired after the flash? That's most likely wrong, I'm bored in the office and guessing :)

Was the film info intact or is the film totally blank?

I don't think it is possible to fire the shutter with the dark slide in!

I could have pressed the Mlu button by mistake whilst I was forcing the trigger into the hot shoe. I will check when I am back home.

Actually apparently the films markings are there. I just phoned the lab.

Although in theory it shouldn't work, it is definitely possible for some Bronica backs to allow you to fire the shutter with the dark slide in.

Not that I have any personal experience or anything...

Oh ok. I don't think the dark slide was in. I think I must have loaded the roll the wrong way round and exposed the paper. But I do remember seeing the arrow and lining it up with the arrow on the back would this be visible if it was the wrong way round?

It's certainly possible to do that in an rb67... Don't ask how I know.

It only has to be out by about 1/8" and the shutter will fire.

For this reason, I keep my ETRS and RB67 dark slides at home.

Steve.

So 400 film, 160th f/11...we aren't talking about a pitch black scene with only flash to light it are we ?, I mean there ought to have been something on the film with or without flash, so it isn't flash sync ?

Shutter or mirror then

As you say Rob probably loaded film wrong way round. I've done it before.

Can you do that, and see the start line ?

I'm not clued up on how the Bronicas load but you can see it on the RB67 if it's in the wrong way round.

I am pretty sure I must have loaded it wrong. I have loaded another roll very carefully and. Will do a reshoot when I can. Thanks for your replies.

You can on the Bronica.

I reckon that you must have loaded the film upside down with the backing paper on the outside.

I dunno then, it seems they all take a different route to get to the same place.
Can't be done on my Bronica, can't be done on a Mamiya 645 pro and can't be done on a C220, so that's me out.
