I have a Bronica ETRS (bought from a nice chap on here) and I would like to shoot some Square images the same as you can on the SQ-A/SQ-Bmodels.

Can I just get an SQ-A 120 back and put it on my ETRS body? or is there a different fitment?

Thanks

Ian

Could do and have thought of that once I get myself a neg scanner but would like to shoot some square images then pop into the dark rooms at uni and develop them, I need more practice with darkroom techniques anyway plus I 'm thinking about creating a book with the shots taken.

Nope. You can't go up in formats, only down - so you can't make an ETRS (6x4.5) into an SQ (6x6), but you can find a 6x6 back for the Bronica GS-1, a 6x7 camera.

and you can get a 6x4.5 back for the SQ cameras too. You could always crop to 4.5x4.5.

Crop on the enlarger - it's very easy to mask. It's a lot easier to crop to 4.5x4.5 than the alternative, which is to buy a camera that shoots 6x6 natively!

Different back fitment, (different lenses too), so won't work. The SQ series are quite a bit bigger cameras overall than the ETR series.

Great thanks for the advice, I have used a SQ-B before but forgot how much bigger they are compared to my ETRS, will have to do it in the dark room then.

just thought I could switch backs :(
