Broken links with Flickr?

Same as neil_g, a quick look through some of my past posts and no problems. If you move your images in flickr, even putting them in an album, will break the link.

Well that works so far, lets see if it lasts.

Still working!

Its working ok on the android app (tile)

I'll fire the lappy up in a few minutes and check on there.

Yep, the links broken on the browser, but its still there on the app!
Strange one that.
Ask @Marcel for some advice.

Strange. The app could very well be caching the image. The wierdest thing is why is the link changing on flickr?
Here is a comparison between the photo posted above (now unavailable), and the code I just regrabbed from flickr (Im assuming it's the egg shot?)

@Marcel Now both of your links are broken for me
Still ok on the app though. I will have alook on my other tile to see if it's broken on that, its not been on for weeks so shouldn't be cached on there.

this is why i was wondering if the graphic had been moved or replaced as the image URL changes (or at least used to).

tis an odd one indeed. i've not spotted any bother.

might be worth a mention to flickr support?

Will contact them today to ask about it, will also post the response here for future reference

OK, on the other tablet (app), 1 link is broken the other is fine! Just to throw another spanner in the works!

So, got an answer which makes sense.

It seems to be Aperture syncing with Flickr which is throwing the URLs off.

Makes sense.
Yeh, spose so, but is it fixable?

I had the same problem a while back when I switched from a Pro to a normal account. When Aperture / Lightroom republished a photo on a 'Pro' account the URL is retained. When it does it on a 'normal' account, the URL changes - this is intended behaviour on the part of Flickr.

In the end I decided to re-activate my 'Pro' account for a couple of years.

Slight OT but is there any alternative to "Pro" accounts now?

As far as I know, if you had a 'Pro' account previously, I believe you can still subscribe - the information on their website isn't 100% correct as my Pro account did lapse and I was able to re-activate it.

If you never had a pro account, then no. I don't think so. You get a lot of the benefits that used to be associated with the pro account now with the free one (but not the ability to replace photos).
