Yes
I dropped my camera (d300) with 18-200 zoom attached onto a marble floor on the first day of holiday in Italy. :bang: Now lens rather poorly. Looking to claim on insurance and they'll need a quote for repair.

Purchased from Jessops (Blackpool).

Where is best place to take it or do I need to post to Nikon UK?

Phil

Why not call Jessops (or Nikon) and ask?

is it to painful to put a picture up? go on....

I would imagine jessops would be best place to try?

It's in situations like this that I feel sorry for insurance companies.

I did much the same with my 18-200 in Bruges onto cobbles. Took it to my local shop (independent) and they got it repaired for <200. As I wasn't insured for accident (at the time) I paid and smiled!

That's good to know. The lens glass isn't damaged, nor outer case, it just wont focus or zoom!

"It's in situations like this that I feel sorry for insurance companies." I consider it like a service repair plan, you pay insurance for yrs without a claim, then when something goes wrong you call them in to sort it out.

Here's a list of Authorised Nikon Repair Centres. Your lens isn't a professional one so that rules Fixation out, at least as far as being "authorised".
