Broken arm

Anyone ever managed to continue shooting with their arm in a cast?

I'm going in for surgery on my wrist in 3 weeks, and will have a full arm cast on for 8-12 weeks.

Only thing is Ive 2 weddings booked in November....

Good luck mate, I wish you a speedy recovery.
I could live with my missus having to feed my and even changing my pants
However, I would be one misserable S** if I was unable to use both hands for togging!

Seriously though, how about using a tripod until you are well enough?

Had my right arm in a cast for nearly 4 months a couple of years ago after i shatterered, displaced and rotated my fifth metacarple. Still have the metal plate in there. You learn to do a lot with your left hand

maybe a largish bean bag would be handy [sorry about the pun!]. you could use it to push against as support when changing lenses etc.

I'm hoping a tripod and maybe prime lens to save me zooming will be an option, but was curious if anyone has any experience with it.

I've had surgery on both hands before, but it was minor and didnt require a cast, so only stopped me for a week or 10days at a time.
