Broadband help....

....Right, maybe I'm just being thick, [play nice] but Im having issues with my broadband.
Its been fine [most of the time] since Ive had it almost two years, now....lately, everytime someone rings, it boots me off the internet, and I lose my connection.
Why?!
Nothings changed.
Whats happening, or what am I doing wrong?

If you have not brought into use another telephone somewhere in the house, and done so without a filter, then an existing filter has died.

or a slight fault on the line, what ever you do dont let bt sort it, ask them to do a line test, this is of course assuming you are with bt

Have you done any mods to the phone wires?
I'd disconnect the filters (and whatever is connected to them) one by one and see if you can isolate the issue (just ring yourself from your mobile or voip).

You can modify the BT circuit - removing the ring wire because the filters contain ring circuitry - but I'd look for a duff filter before introducing any complications.
