I went with some friends to take some pics. We stayed outside of the paid area, and ended up on Rotten Row, just outside the park. As we were walking down the row looking for the best view, my friend went over to ask a couple of photographer chaps coming out of the park if we was OK to set up on the row, because it was blocked off to traffic. They said that the stewards for the event would be coming down the row before the event to clear the row.

And that we should go and pay to get in.
When my friend told me that, and then watched the chaps set up themselves on the hill on the row, I said I can't see that happening. There were a couple of Police Officers further down the road so I went and asked whether they were going to clear the road, they said they hadn't heard of any plans to do that.
I think the other photographers we asked were talking BS, and it was quite nasty thing to do, saying that we should go and pay to get in, when they themselves were coming out of the paid area, if they knew what they were doing. :nono:
As for the new location and the displays, it's not an ideal location, and hopefully it will return to the Marina when the building work is finished there. I'm not sure what the views were like all around the park, but I think it is quite an enclosed location. The start was delayed as there were still people entering the park. God knows how they will cope tonight with 3 displays and many many more people.
The first display was good, but the 2nd display was poor imho. Prog Rock shouldn't be in a firework display for me. :shake:
Possibly going tonight, but if previous years are anything to go by, there were be lots more spectators and will be a lot busier.
