They are the responsibility of the parent. The state should not interfere, that is what got us in the mess in the first place. We always think the state knows best, and even if it does, it will end up wrong with the children hating us for the separation. That is much more important to them then anything else.Even though they are British-born British citizens who have done nothing wrong? We should just abandon them in Turkey and whatever fate IS decides to dream up for them?
Can you explain why? If they were in the UK we would expect social services to remove them from the care of such irresponsible parents - why should we stop caring now, when it is within our power to deliver them to a safer and (hopefully) happier life?
