Hi I have just been posted to Bristol which makes a change from going to Sea.

Are there any outstanding locations worth photographing apart from the Clifton Bridge or good photographic clubs or meets ?

Many thanks,

Nick

PS I also need to find accommodation, any areas to avoid? PM me if you prefer.

Hi Nick,

Bristol is a great place for photography! I don't know of any clubs but I'm always happy to head out if you like.

The man in the know for Bristol IMO is @daugirdas, take a look on his website for some inspiration .. http://www.longlensphotography.co.uk/bristol

:agree: Bristol has a wealth of places/things worthy of photographing. Poke your browser at visitbristol.co.uk and you'll see loads of inspirational photos.

Hey, maybe it's time for a TP walkabout :D

Our son lives in Bristol and I love taking the camera down there for a weekend, always something to shoot (even if it is some of the locals :D )

Thank you all, I'll check out this info. The hunt for a decent flat in a nice area continues...

I went to the watershed for a film last week and the urban area and docks surrounding it looked ripe for photography.

Bristol is wonderfully photogenic, although I don't live there any more! In a couple of months you're going to be embarrassed you ever asked if there were locations worth photographing! ;):D

By the way, it's not like being at sea - there are a lot of steep hills!! :D

It's all work, eat, sleep, repeat at the moment but i'm sure you are right :-) thanks you all for your advice.

There is plenty :) Harbourside, SS Great Britain/Underfall Yard, That Bridge, Clifton, the Museum, Cathedral, St Mary Redcliffe amongst others, Clevedon, Weston, Bath, Tyntesfield, Dyrham Park.........
