Bristol Cameras Promlem?

Hello all, I placed an order on Sunday to buy a Fuji S3 for £195 with a £10 delivery charge. So far on the website the furthest my order has got is from pending to aknowledged. I think I read when I was ordering that they would try and dispatch within 48 hours. I can't find an email address ANYWHERE on the website and it's an 0844 number to ring them.Has anyone else had problems with them?

I don't think you have much to worry about, I'm sure you'll get your camera, but it's quite possible they've taken your money for an item not actually in stock and which they've now ordered.

No help to you in your present situation of course, but if ordering expensive items I always ring up and ascertain it's in stock before they get my money.

Phoning an 0844 number is not going to bankrupt you, if you think there's a problem call them and speak to someone.
 
I found the phone number a quick google search after posting, and I am phoning them now! Thanks for the help! He said that is now going to be dispatched today! Only a day after the 48 hour time bracket!
 
Don't hold your breath, a similar thread here some months ago highlighted failed despatch promises.
 
Yep, not a good company to deal with. Misleading stock levels and delivery timescale claims. Its fairly clear they hold very little stock and only order items once they've sold them.
 
Just got off the phone with them again, and they have said they are dispatching today (FINALLY!) I don't think I shall use them again unless I actually go to Bristol. For next time, who is a good retailer to use?
 
That would be a different "Today" than yesterday then :shake:
For the future I would chose a supplier recommended by folks on here, there is a list somewhere if you do a search but in the meantime I've had good results from ffordes, Dale Photographic and Mifsuds, Grays of Westminster are also very good from reports we see.
 
I use Amazon for most stuff as i can get it deliveredin the evening of the same of ordering.. I also use warehouse express but i usually check 1st on price inc delivery costs..

Then again each to our own :p
 
I had similar issues with them, took an age for them to deliver a tripod head which they took the money for at time of order.
Might be worth a letter to trading standards, don't think thy are supposed to take full payment for an item which isn't in stock.
