Hi,
When its bright and sunny like this week which is best filter for landscape shots. Is it UV or Polarizing ? Guess these should be combined with lens hood to stop flair.

Polarising usually , yes you can you use the lens hood too with most makes, although it can be awkward reaching into the lens hood to adjust the filter.

If it's really bright I'd use a high strength ND Grad filter to balance the sky out, bring out the clouds and ensure a decent exposure on the landscape.

The CPL is also a UV filter and will increase contrast and darken the sky (maximum when 90 degrees to the sun). This can be pretty useful but if you at a very wide angle the sky has a very uneven brightness which can look bad. You'll need a longer exposure when using it though as 2-3 stops of light are blocked.

A UV filter should remove a bit of haze but otherwise just protects the lens coatings.

On a dSLR a UV filter will do nothing good for your image and will do some harm.
