Brick wallpaper in studio - will it work?

I'm thinking of trying some brick wallpaper like THIS in a corner of the studio and wondered if anyone has found this to be convincing and effective... or does it still just look like wallpaper! I realise that light angles will need to be controlled to avoid direct reflection.

Just to put it in context, it would replace the red wall behind Holly below and would probably be lit the same way most of the time (simple gridded beauty dish):

Been thinking the same, as want Brick in the studio, looked at the wallpaper that is around and the non textured to me looked flat without using as a backdrop the textured had pre done shadows which would restrict lighting options for me, have seen some done with a paper as background, and found the resulting shots flat :( so currently looking at cladding options or building an actual wall :)
 
Try local builders merchants and ask if they have any old sample boards they want to dispose of the simply use these to clad your wall...

I did it in a studio in Nottingham and it looked very effective when pointed up.

Yeah, cladding would be a better option... but not practical for me unfortunately. I wallpaper MDF boards which slot in behind the black skirting and fix to the ceiling. That way I can swap the boards over and change the backdrop in a couple of minutes. I might have a think about using another area and cladding that instead though...:thinking:
