I watched the programme on ITV last night about Cloughie and at the end I had tears in my eyes,I am not a Forest or Derby fan just a football fan and I consider myself blessed that I watched football during the Cloughie era.
The man was a genius in my mind the greatest manager who ever lived and watching last night reinforced why I find football today such a let down in comparison with Cloughie's era.

I grew up in Nottingham and went to school along the river from the city ground. Many a happy afternoon was spent bunked off watching Forest train - happy days ;-)

Sorry to disagree but I would put Jock Stein of Celtic and Bill Shankly of Liverpool ahead of Cloughie - Just.

To my memory Brian was the 'man-manager' but Peter Taylor was the footbal coach.

I've no interest in football, but I do like characters with some fire in their belly and Cloughie certainly had that.
I think Michael Sheen has an uncanny knack of picking the human characteristics of whoever he's portraying and ghosting them perfectly. A great actor!

He used to live up the road from my folks and would often be spotted at the local shop. He'd always stop for a chat with the kids hanging round there, dishing out sweets (in a way you could, before society decided being friendly to children who aren't yours obviously meant you were a very bad person).
Absolute legend in my eyes, and I can't stand footie.
There was an interesting piece on the BBC new site about what it would be like if Cloughie was your boss at work. I think it concluded that he'd spend most of his time in disciplinary hearings with todays equal ops and "no blame" culture :D

Go to disagree there the only one who comes close to Cloughie in my eyes is Bob Paisley

Surprised no one has said it yet

"Best England manager we never had"
