I am going there first time tomorrow and would like some advise. I am interested in waterfalls, mountains and other nice sceneries in that order. Bluebells patch may be a bonus. I drive and I am happy with walking reasonable distances.

I would be grateful for any photo trip plans in that area.

Waterfalls - there is a whole selection of nice falls in the Pontneddfechan / Ystradfellte area in the SW corner of the BBNP, which would be a good photo option if the weather is dull. (TIC at Pontneddfechan for map/info leaflet). The Sgwd-yr-Eira is special in that you can walk behind the water but its quite a trek to get there.

Its a fairly easy walk to the top of Pen-y-Fan from Storey Arms on the A470 Brecon -> Merthyr main road - takes maybe an hour. You could be lucky. There are some good views of the central Brecon Beacons from the Brecon area, scout around and see what you can find.

On of my favourite spots is Llangors lake about 6 miles east of Brecon. The north side is the tourist hotspot with boat hire, cafe, toilets etc (and bleedin' speed boats....), but the south side near Llangasty is much quieter and prettier. (get there on minor roads or walk from the north side.) Access to the shore of the lake is otherwise quite difficult. (impossible, even!). The lake and mountains are overlooked from a minor road about 2 - 3miles to the E/NE of the lake between Mynydd Troed and Mynydd Llangors. You can walk from there to N or S.

Have a good day!

Pretty much what was already mentioned above is here.
There may be a health and safety problem at the falls with a walkway behind, reason given was unstable rocks over the pathway. Found this out when I last visited during the winter when it was frozen solid :)

Watch Wild Wales for some tasters of all of the above and many more, presented by Iolo (yourlow) Williams. Truly excellent.

"Iolo Williams shares his passion for Welsh wildlife. Filmed over a year, with stunning aerial and wildlife photography, the first episode features the beautiful south of Wales.

Iolo starts in Pembrokeshire with red deer, seals and a rare sighting of red squirrels. In the Brecon Beacons he discovers spectacular waterfalls, amazing cave structures and bats hiding in dungeons, and also nesting hobbies, goshawks and some stunning birds in Glamorgan and Gwent."

I met him at Nant-yr-arian when he was filming Red Kites (not sure if it was for this programme though). He was a really nice bloke to talk to and very knowledgeable.

From Brecon, pretty much anywhere's accessible within a few hours drive. :)
