Thinking of treating myself to some new filters. Heard about these somewhere, has anyone had any experience of them. I don't believe marketing hype put out by any company themselves.

Please don't just regurgitate internet myth, have you actually shot with them? If so, how do they compare to others? SUPPOSEDLY they are colour neutral, and I have ot amit I was a big fan of B&W for the RZ when I was shooting film and still have some, but they do throw colour casts, which are not easy to fix in PP, because you have ot go and fix them in PP, it would be far better if they were right from the outset.

If I can't get any proper feedback I shall leave my money in my wallet. I am not taking a punt mail order without some kind of recommendation.

Everett,

A buddy on mine is in SF, will ask him.
No one carries them in Austria so I can
not try them here.

I'll come back to you.

I have a Breakthrough 3 stop ND filter and I'm very happy with it. I don't think any ND filter is truly neutral but I think theirs is as close to neutral color cast as you're going to get. I previously used B+W and I think Breakthrough is superior. Breakthrough comes out on top in reviews by The-Digital-Picture and SLR Lounge.

I use the breakthrough ten stop and the polariser (77mm) both are very good. One got scratched somehow - to which I sent a message saying I was disappointed that it scratched so easily - and they sent me another. The 10 stop is certainly pretty colour neutral compared to any other I've tried.

Good feedback chaps thanks...what about the Canadain angle?

Not heard of LuLa, but then I am not a landscape photographer, I don't have
a) the patience
b) the inclination
c) the market

but I want to learn to incorporate some of the techniques into my other work. Plus, it is getting near the time I need to replace my filters.

Thank you!

I've also been looking at these. Did you go for breakthrough in the end? How did you get on? :)

Nah, I couldn't get any sense out of them. They just want you to part with your money - not willing to supply any information, they just point you to their marketing blurb and website. Went with known quantities in the end. The difference in price isn't worth the aggravation or risk.
