Bread Makers - NEW QUESTION

My panny 257 is the mutts, I only do maybe 4-5 loaves a month, but I just love the spicy fruit loaf, esp when made with cranberries!
I take it to work and toast it for the lads in the workshop

I love making loaves too....
Strange, I thought I saw your baldy head in the carpark today with your twin brother!! Nice colour bag too......:lol::lol:

Didn't click until he came back in with a new bag or I would have.

TBH, I didn't really see you but the secretary said you were like twins....

She is 95 with very poor eyesight, but you're up for a blind date....

fabs, you made four loaves in the first week? I know we mustn't bring religion into this, but are you planning to feed the multitude with loaves and fishes??

I've recebntly bought a breadmaker: here's a link to it (hope that's ok, moderator!!) http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/290123/module/general/compare/productsCategory.html
I used it twice in the first week, once in the second, and then .. ermm... well... I guess I've got a bit blase about the wafting of fresh bread smells throughout the flat! There's nothing wrong with it at all.. and there's lots of variations can play with.. it's just that.. oh dear.. I've got a new toy! A Korg MicroSampler.. and so I'm making music (well.. sounds shall we say!) rather than baking bread at the moment.

I'm sure I'll return to my trusty breadmaker soon... and indeed i may even sample some of the sounds it makes while baking the bread. And if I have a hit single..I'll be making bread as well as baking bread! Lol

Best things about making your own bread...

- adding chillis (everything should have chillis in)
- melting the butter into a freshly cooked loaf
- inch thick toast (one slice is like a full meal..)

Bread is without a doubt one of my favourite foods. People ramble on about wines and all the rest of it...bread is where it's at.

You don't need a bread-maker - just an oven!

I have a breadmaker and I love it for everyday use. The key is to keep it out and visible and then you'll use it more. Seeded loaves and pizza dough are my top two favourites I think!

I also do "proper" handmade, oven baked bread when I feel the need ("knead" ) to take my frustrations out on something! :D

Having made 4 loaves in the first week, that's music to my ears.

Pizza loaf is lush by the way. :D

you can make jam in them as well btw - if you fancy doing something different, lots of recipes on the tinterwebthingy

I got my wife a panasonic SD255 off ebay - I only paid £42 for it, and a filter coffee machine as a job lot (some bloke selling off his wedding presents because they'd split up just after honeymoon  ) - I think its probably paid for itself by now .

Now THAT is something I'll be looking up.

Chili bread Mr Grimshaw??? Wow!

By the way (and this may be something for a new thread)... are there such things as beer makers? Ie mini-brewery sets that enable you to make good quality beer without hassle?:)

Heads up - Currys have the Panasonic 256 model for £62.97 just now, other shops are £80-£99. Making way for the newer 257 version I expect.
