Anyone going? To shoot it I mean. I am in early planning stages but waiting to see if England qualify.

A full time pro would be taking a big gamble doing that on spec... I wouldnt even consider taking the chance... Plus its a long drive when ya don't fly :)

Tobers... just had a 2 week holiday and already planning the next....!

Or month, or year!

Couple on the Mail Online and one in the Sunday Times. A good start with the new lens

Off topic but was Gary's lens a newer version than you had?

On topic - if I win the lottery I'll go 'on spec' :D

I'm on my own then. I "may" have a bit of cash coming my way in May 2014 which will help things along, plus I'll pull out all the stops to get good clients for the pics. I'm also interested in everything around the event, not just the football itself - it'll be an interesting 4 weeks if I do make it.

As internal flights are mega £££, I was pondering buying a van there and driving about, & also able to sleep in it, so I could turn it into some ludicrous road trip. Sell the van at the end, if it still works and doesn't smell too bad :-) and I haven't been mugged, drugged or jailed.

Anyway, lots of things that need to line up before I can make the leap and book it.

Just make sure your insurance covers all your gear..

Well they are through so that's the first hurdle jumped. Now need to see the group allocations and therefore the stadium timetable to work out if this will be at all practical.

TBH the costs are looking horribly scary right now...

What ballpark figures are you looking at? What a trip it would be though, you'd remember it forever.

Did you The Guardian Article? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/16/england-football-fans-brazil-world-cup?CMP=twt_gu

Brazil won't hold the group stages in one area. i.e. put fares up as much as possible and force people to travel....

The surge in traffic came despite the fact that the only package so far on offer ahead of the December draw that will determine who England will play and where is a £6,995 deal guaranteeing tickets, travel and accommodation for each of the three group games wherever they are played.

Crazy prices.

Only £7000 for the group games? You would need a very good client to cover that.

I mean, the experience will be wonderful, but the money side sounds unreasonable.

Yep it looks truly bonkers. However....I have a plan with one of the corporate sponsors which has a tiny chance of success but is worth a punt.....
